Safety, Suitability and Aftercare

Every treatment at Health & Beauty Lab starts with a consultation and a medical history. This page explains who we can treat, the risks of injectable treatments and what happens after your appointment.

Consultation first

Before any aesthetic treatment we talk through your goals, review your health, medicines, allergies and previous treatments, and assess your skin and facial anatomy. We explain the options that may suit you, with their benefits, risks, costs and aftercare, and we recommend taking time to reflect between your consultation and any injectable treatment.

Who can be treated

We only provide aesthetic consultations and injectable treatments to adults aged 18 and over (see our Under-18 Policy). Some medical conditions, medicines, pregnancy and breastfeeding can mean that a treatment is not suitable or should be postponed. We may decline to treat you, and we will always explain why.

Risks of injectable treatments

• Common and usually temporary: redness, swelling, tenderness and bruising at the treated area.
• Less common: infection, small lumps, asymmetry and allergic reactions.
• Rare but serious: dermal fillers can block a blood vessel, which needs urgent treatment.

Your practitioner will explain the specific risks of any treatment before you give your written consent.

Aftercare

You will receive aftercare advice for your treatment. If you are worried about anything after an appointment, such as increasing pain, changes in skin colour or signs of infection, contact us straight away on +44 7918 249545. In an emergency call 999 or go to your nearest A&E.
